Bali Treehouse Rental: Jungle or Sea View?
Bali does treehouses like nowhere else — but most of the ones you’ll find on the listicles are far from anything, beautiful for a night and impractical for a week. We built ours to be lived in. Samastiti has two: one in the jungle heart of Ubud, one above the sea in Lovina. Here’s how to choose.
The Ubud Treehouse — jungle, yoga, walkable town.

Five minutes on foot from the Yoga Barn and dozens of restaurants, yet wrapped in green. A private plunge pool with a hammock suspended above the water, a kitchenette with stove and fridge, fast wifi, air conditioning for quiet nights in the canopy, and the strange luxury of hearing the jungle while being able to walk to dinner. Best for: yoga trips, first-time Ubud visitors, couples who want town and nature in the same day. From $69/night.
The Nest — a tree house above the sea in Lovina.

On Bali’s quiet north coast, the Nest looks over the water from the treetops — sunrise over the sea, dolphins most mornings, and Temukus Beach a one-minute walk away. Architect-designed on stilts, with a rooftop terrace, a private pool tucked into the garden below, an infrared sauna, a kitchenette and air conditioning. It sits beside our beachfront estate, so couples travelling with family can combine it with our beach house and the Joglo for the whole compound. Best for: slow travellers, honeymooners, anyone escaping the crowds. Note: the Nest is an adults-only retreat.
Jungle or sea view? A quick decision guide.
Choose Ubud if: you want yoga, restaurants and culture on foot; you’re mixing work and travel and need fast wifi; it’s your first Bali trip and you want to be in the middle of things.
Choose the Nest if: you want the sea and the quiet of the north; you’re celebrating something as a couple; you want dolphins at dawn and black-sand beaches away from the crowds.
Either way: both are private, both come with our local staff, and both are cheapest booked direct — 10% off with code BOOKDIRECT10.
Why book a treehouse direct with Samastiti.
The listicle treehouses often go through platforms that add fees on top of the nightly rate. Ours are family-run, Superhost-rated since 2016, and booking direct saves 10% — with a real human to help you before and during your stay.
Frequently asked questions
Are the treehouses safe for children?
The Nest is an adults-only retreat — because of its elevated, open design on stilts, children are not permitted there for their own safety. The Ubud Treehouse doesn’t publish a specific child policy, so if you’re travelling with little ones, message us first and we’ll tell you honestly whether it suits your family.
Do the treehouses have air conditioning and hot water?
Both treehouses have air conditioning for cool, quiet nights. For other specifics such as hot water and appliances, just ask us when you enquire and we’ll confirm the exact setup for your dates.
Which treehouse has a pool?
Both do. The Ubud Treehouse has a private plunge pool with a hammock above the water; the Nest has a private pool tucked into the garden below the house.
