Organizing Bali for a big group usually ends one of two ways: everyone scattered across separate hotel rooms coordinating by group chat, or one giant villa where half the party got the bad bedrooms. There’s a third way — and we run both versions of it. Here’s the honest comparison.

Option 1: The Beachfront Compound — Lovina, Sleeps 16

On Lovina’s black-sand coast, three of our houses share one private beachfront stretch: Samastiti by the Beach (four bedrooms, sleeps twelve), The Nest (sleeps two), and The Joglo by the Sea (sleeps two). Book all three and you have a compound for sixteen — one beach, three front doors.

That layout is the secret for multi-family trips: grandparents or a honeymooning couple get an actual house of their own, kids and cousins share the big house, and everyone meets on the lawn for dinner. The big house has the only covered pool we know of in North Bali (children can swim all day without burning), a small gym, an infrared sauna, and a cook who’ll grill the morning’s catch. Private dolphin boats leave from the sand in front of the villa.

Best for: family reunions, multi-generation holidays, groups with kids, anyone who wants calm swimmable sea.

Option 2: The Clifftop House — Bingin, Sleeps 14

On the Bukit cliffs above Bingin Beach, our Bingin house books as one five-bedroom home for fourteen: 180° ocean views to Java and the Batur volcano, a pool on the cliff edge, a home cinema for the evenings, and one of Bali’s best lefts breaking below. Dreamland Beach is a 7-minute walk away — you can see it from the rooftop terrace — and Uluwatu’s restaurants and beach clubs are a short drive away.

Best for: surf trips, friend groups, remote-working crews, groups who want Uluwatu’s beach clubs and restaurants within reach.

How to Choose

Kids, calm sea, and slow days → Lovina. Surf, sunsets, and a scene nearby → Bingin. Truly can’t choose? Do what a few groups have done: split the trip, north then south, and see both halves of the island.

Why Groups Should Book Direct (More Than Anyone)

Platform service fees scale with the booking — on a 16-person, week-long stay they add hundreds of dollars for nothing. Booking direct with us skips those fees, gets you a real person to plan logistics with (airport convoys, group meals, boats, restaurant bookings), and code BOOKDIRECT10 takes a further 10% off. For any group enquiry, email info@samastitivillas.com and we’ll plan it properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we host a wedding or party at the villas?
No — we don’t allow parties or events. Our houses sit in quiet, working villages, and keeping them peaceful for our neighbors and our guests is non-negotiable. Group holidays, family reunions, and shared dinners among the guests staying with us are exactly what the houses are for; amplified music, outside guest lists, and event setups are not.

Do the group villas come with staff?
Housekeeping and hosts at both. At the Lovina compound, a cook is available for group meals — including grilling the morning’s catch. The Bingin house deliberately has no cook: it’s surrounded by so many good restaurants, most of which also deliver to the villa, that you’ll never miss one.

How does pricing work for the three-house Lovina compound?
Each house has its own rate; book all three together and ask us for the combined quote — direct is always the best price.

Is a big villa cheaper than hotel rooms?
Almost always. Sixteen people in eight hotel rooms costs dramatically more than one compound — and you lose the shared kitchen, lawn, and beach.
