The house
As a tree house in North Bali, the Nest is a small, perfectly considered cabin lifted on stilts above Lovina’s gardens. Designed by an architect, it makes the most of every square metre — a calm bedroom, an ensuite bathroom, a deep balcony, and a rooftop terrace that opens to the sky.
From the balcony you watch fishing boats track across the bay. From the rooftop you see the volcano line of Java in the distance. Inside, natural materials, soft light and just enough furniture to feel uncluttered.

The experience
The boat is waiting on the beach before sunrise — a short walk from the villa, a private cruise, no one else’s itinerary but yours. Dolphins surface alongside within the first half hour, and by the time you’re back on shore, breakfast is already cooked and waiting at the villa.
The afternoon is yours to spend further afield: a hot spring to soak in, a waterfall worth the short hike, a temple or two along the way. But come back in good time — the Nest’s terrace holds, by far, the best sunset view in all of Bali. Three hundred and sixty degrees of sea, rice fields and mountains, and on a clear day, the volcanoes of Java rising on the horizon.
